Christine Winch

Chris is a creative, experienced, commercially aware Home Economist with 30 years of experience. The prospect of new challenges and helping customers excites her. She trained as a Home Economist at Croydon College and has worked in foodservice both as a Contract Caterer and latterly as a Catering Adviser.  As a hybrid Home Economist, she is equally comfortable giving advice to home cooks or chefs on tight budgets in hot, hectic kitchens.

For the past 8 years she has been working with Brakes Foodservice and is used to a pressured, fast pace of working.  Cooking for everyone in the company, from the boardroom down, ensuring excellent taste and flavour is at the heart of every dish. 

Chris has a particular flair for tailoring presentations to match the right products and services for each individual customer.  She has recently supported customers with product selection and sampling, benchmarking taste panels, writing training manuals, and creating recipes and menus.

She has a passion for training others and has spent time as a Food Technology teacher and ran a ’Let’s Get Cooking’ club. She now organises Team Building Days using food to bring people together.  Recent themes have included halloween bake off, beautiful bread, dine in together, and afternoon tea.

Recent projects include planning and delivering the food content of countrywide product knowledge training for customer care.  As part of a small team she wrote product descriptions for over 2,500 lines for the website, bringing products to life for customers.  She organised and ran a ‘Come Dine with Me’ team development cooking competition over the course of  2 years for over 600 Senior Managers in the company, in coastal holiday parks.She enjoys listening and planning, logistics, adding value, and a challenge.
